Images hold a remarkable power to incite emotions within its viewer and lead them to thoughts of experience, wonder, and opinion. The photograph can become a symbol of our times, expressed through an individual and saved as a document. Photography is not only a way of showing, it is also a way of seeing.

But the photograph is only the product of such experience. What is not seen in the image are the events that led up to the photograph being taken and set the stage for such a moment to unravel. This can be taken even one step further by looking beyond the moment of capture and questioning what draws the interest of the photographer and motivates him/her to take such a picture, or place themselves in such a situation in general?

The answer is quite simple. The emotions and questions that arise when looking at an emotive picture are the answers the photographer found while trying to answer their own questions.

This is an online diary of events that portrays the thoughts and experiences that are the foundation of myself and the work found in the DSP Gallery.
